YULIIA POHORIELOVA on the START
My acquaintance Dino Pavlinovic called me: "Hello Yuliia, we need your help, we have to do something to support your people."
Dino had the idea of starting a fashion label. I knew how to organize something like that. We then met in Berlin for a brainstorming session. We discussed what options we have. What kind of people do we need for a project like this? Where can we find these? Dino is bursting with energy. He made plans of what we need. That was a really intense time. My phone kept ringing. Some nights I only slept four hours.
A project like this requires a wide variety of know-how: from lawyers and management to illustrators and models to logisticians. Our illustrations are all from Kiev. I used to live in Odessa and am now in Berlin as a brand manager. There I take care of social media and photo shoots. I also take care of the communication between Dino and the others. It's not easy: Our team is spread all over Europe. Many Ukrainians are traumatized. But: We produce the clothes in Germany, where refugees from the Ukraine also work. They sew, pack the clothes or are models. I think the stress is worth it.

Most of the illustrations are by Natasha Le - from Kiev. It's not easy being creative at a time like this. Dino also contributes ideas and discusses them with the illustrators. We are a creative collective. Our goal is to give people something to take with them.
